Often
I need to find some documents, in most cases applicants'
resumes...I just imagined, how I would have tried if I've used
common Windows Searcher. First, I should find the

go next. It would really take too much time.
Introduction
Often I need to
find some documents, in most cases applicants' resumes. They are
stored in some folders, and there are thousands of them! Some
from the websites in html-pages, some from e-mail messages, some
simply in the text files, some were received in attachments in
zip format, and the administrators haven't unpack them. And I am
to sort them by some signs - applicants' skills, experience,
age, gender and so on...
I had used to do
it manually, but it made me really tired - it's not easy to view
all the files with different programs for several hours.
But I decided,
that it's possible to use some program, that can ease my work,
for there are possibilities to find text abstracts in the
Windows Searcher. I tried it, but found it doesn't mention some
file formats.
PDF Search Assistant
Then I tried the PDF Search Assistant.
Sure, it made all the work much more easier!
Major
benefits
It allows to set
some search parameters, to search in some (not the whole drive
or a single folder, but really some folders!), and the best is
the possibility to view files of many formats - I use many, but
there was none it didn't open!
Also great
function - to sort all found files by relevancy! It allow to
select preferable resumes as soon as they are found.

And after you find all you need, PDF Search Assistant may generate the HTML-file with the search criterions and with the file list with paths to all files, relevance and quotations from the source file, and it's quite useful, if you need, for example, to send the report to your boss.

And after you
find all you need, PDF Search Assistant may generate the HTML-file with the
search criterions and with the file list with paths to all
files, relevance and quotations from the source file, and it's
quite useful, if you need, for example, to send the report to
your boss.
And if you need
to group the files somehow, you may copy or move all or some
found files to a separate folder, for example, completely
suitable applicants - to "Completely" folder, partly -
to "Partly" and so on... PDF Search Assistant allows you to do it
directly from it's own shell.
If
I've used common Windows Searcher
I just imagined, how I would have tried if I've used common
Windows Searcher.
First, I should
find the document, then view it, then make some notes and only
after it go next. It would really take too much time.
But it's just a
half of all process, also I would had to create the list of all
found files, to copy them all one by one in separate folder, and
to send it all to my boss with explanation what and where to
search.
Why
choose PDF Search Assistant
So, I found that PDF Search Assistant
really eases the search process of any documents:
-
it allows to
search in several folders at once;
-
to search in
the files already found but with other criterions;
-
to group the
files by some signs;
-
to search in
different files types, even in zip archives;
-
to create a
report with everything necessary - path to the file,
description and quotation from the file.
It seems, it's
very hard to use it all, but in reality it appears very easy for
a great user interface and help, which includes even flash
tutorial!
So, if you use
the PDF Search Assistant, it will really ease your work process, make it faster
and you'll have more time for other job, demanding real efforts.
